Easy RiderEnd of the Film
As we ride along, a couple of country boys in a pick-up truck spot them. The younger guy in the passanger seat picks up a shotgun from the rear of the cabin and points it at Billy's face saying, "Why don't you go and get a haircut?". The country boy is amused by this and chuckles with the driver, but Billy simply ignores him and gives him the one finger salute, but, Boom! The younger guy shoots Billy!
Billy has just been shot and Wyatt, wondering what's just happened turns around and runs to him only to find him coughing out blood and dying at the roadside. Angry and dazed, he gets back on the bike and runs off to get help, while at the same time as the younger guy is saying to the driver of the truck that, "we've got to go back." The truck turns around slowly while Wyatt simultaneously heads towards them. Boom! Another shot and this time we see Wyatt's bike leap up in the air in a ball of flame finally coming to rest by the road. There she explodes. Wyatt had this vision earlier on in this story, if you recall. It's as if he'd envisioned his own death, to take place in this fashion.
Strangely and darkly, this is where the film ends. It's been a long time since I watched this film and I want to bring it the true acclaim that it deserves, but for now just send me an e-mail and I'll let you know what I'm doing with this site later.
